Please rest assured I am here to listen.

Postnatal
Helping new mothers regain their strength and restore their bodies after childbirth.
Wendy is a specially trained physiotherapy practitioner of the Mummy MOT post-natal checkup.
It is recommended that women have an initial assessment at six weeks after their baby is born however, Wendy also treats women that gave birth a long time ago that might still have a tummy gap (diastasis) or have pelvic floor issues.
Most women experience weakness in their tummy muscles and hip muscles, pelvic floor muscles, or a combination which can cause instability as the load transfer from the legs to the abdomen and trunk can be affected, sometimes causing back pain or pelvic girdle pain.
Musculoskeletal
Empowering movement, restoring function.
Are you recovering from surgery or have aches and pains that don’t seem to be going away? You might not be as active as you want to be and want to work on building strength, mobility, and balance so that you can get back to activities that you might be missing out on.
Wendy has been treating people with musculoskeletal and rheumatology conditions for the whole of her career and has taught musculoskeletal physiotherapy to undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students.
Acupuncture
Wendy may offer acupuncture within your treatment session and has been practising as a medical acupuncturist since 1999. Acupuncture, involves the strategic insertion of needles to facilitate the body's natural healing processes and alleviate discomfort. Wendy utilises the Western approach of acupuncture. This method works synergistically with physiotherapy by focusing on specific tender points, lessening inflammation, enhancing circulation, and loosening tense muscles commonly seen in issues such as lower back pain and sports-related injuries. The collaboration between acupuncture and physiotherapy provides a comprehensive approach to managing pain from a holistic perspective.
Clinical Pilates
Join me on a journey towards improved pelvic health and musculoskeletal wellness through my tailored Pilates sessions.
Clinical Pilates based exercise in pelvic health encourages the pelvic floor muscles to coordinate with the muscles of the deep tummy and back muscles to build up stability and strength.
Whether it is used for rehabilitation after having a baby, after surgery or to maintain strength and mobility and balance, clinical Pilates can be adjusted to suit your needs.
Whether you would like 1:1 physiotherapy led Pilates or join a Pilates class, Wendy Farren Physiotherapy can help. Please contact me for free advice.
